Description

At the conclusion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the importance of fetal growth on both maternal and fetal well being.
  • Understand how appropriate fetal growth is reassuring for maternal and fetal well being.
  • Recognize the importance of ultrasound as a precision tool for the assessment of fetal growth.
  • Articulate some of the factors in the mother and the fetus that contribute to inappropriate fetal growth, either too large or too small.
  • Discuss how fetal growth can impact on the necessity for fetal delivery if there is a hostile intrauterine environment.
