My Quest To End Preventable Stillbirth in the US and How It Has Changed Me

About Course

In 2017 Dr. Florescue attended the Stillbirth Summit in Minneapolis and says she came away completely changed.  Like her colleagues, she had been told that stillbirth sometimes happens and little can be done to prevent it.  However, after listening to the Stillbirth Summit presenters, especially the presentation by Catherine Calderwood, MD of Scotland she found her passion for stillbirth prevention.  If Scotland can make a significant difference why can’t the US.  Since that time she has worked tirelessly to bring awareness around ways healthcare providers and their patients can reduce the rate of stillbirth.

“This presentation will describe my journey over the last four years – both the challenges and the successes!  I will share what we’ve learned and inspire you to implement your own changes to reduce preventable stillbirth.”

(Recorded June 21, 2023 at the Stillbirth Summit, San Diego, CA)

What I will learn?

  • At the conclusion of this presentation learners should have an understanding of:
  • How to improve fetal movement education for their patients,
  • A protocol to evaluate the fetal movement concern and
  • Feel inspired to improve the standard of care in their communities and change the status quo.
